Who I AM

The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) recently hosted the 10th Annual Avoice Heritage Celebration at the Eaton Hotel in Washington, D.C. The event, entitled “Roots, Return, RemembranceThe Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) and the Black Agenda” highlighted the five U.S. House committee chairs from the CBC (Rep. Maxine Waters, Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson, Rep. Bobby Scott, Rep. Bennie Thompson and Rep. Elijah E. Cummings) as well as Rep. Karen Bass, CBC chair.
The event also marked the 10th anniversary of Avoice, the CBCF’s online repository that captures the legislative and political achievements of African Americans in Congress. To commemorate the anniversary, CBCF produced a short film, entitled “Who I AM.” The film focuses on the compelling stories and powerful committees currently chaired by CBC members.
The CBCF is proud to showcase the CBC’s history and contemporary impact on public policies affecting Black Americans.
We invite you to watch a preview of the film and share it with your network.
